Are you an eager finance professional with a passion for fitness? Join our dynamic team at Urban Gym Group, a rapidly growing scale-up in the fitness industry! We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Controller to play a key role in shaping the financial landscape and will help us to enable and support our ambitious growth in the (international) fitness industry.

Comprising over 35 clubs and studios in all major cities across the Netherlands, Urban Gym Group is an industry pioneer within the European wellness and fitness community. You might know us from the Trainmore, ClubSportive, Renessence and BTY CLB brands. Our ambitious domestic and international growth plans require an expansion of our finance team. You as controller will play a crucial role in realizing Urban Gym Group’s growth and financial objectives.

Our accounting department consists of several sub-teams, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial control (also responsible for payroll and tax). You will become part of a group of 4 financial controllers, reporting into the head of accounting. In this role you will have the opportunity to grow towards manager of the financial control team.

Your role:

• Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders, the board and shareholders, with the goal of providing accurate insights about the company’s performance
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, performing balance sheet and P&L analysis, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Critically reviewing and improving financial processes related to the monthly closing
• Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures.
• Executing various projects, both as requested and on your own initiative to help us enable our future growth efficiently.

You:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 4+ years progressive experience as a financial controller or external auditor. BIG-4 experience is a plus.
• Proactive, takes ownership and has a pragmatical mindset
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Eager to learn and to develop yourself among experienced finance professionals
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
