About the job

The Junior GL Accountant is responsible for accurate book-keeping and administration. Job role involves execution of tasks while following effective internal controls over financial transactions in line with the defined process. Furthermore, GL Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and delivery of assigned tasks and reports as required by the team.

Responsibilities

  • Capture all purchase and expense invoices on a daily basis in line with the process, cost centers, projects and obtain timely approvals for payment.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries as needed.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other GL accounts with bank statements.
  • Perform analysis or prepare reports on purchase orders and invoices as needed.
  • Manage tools incidental to Finance activities (eg. Expenses, leaves, travel requests)
  • Supporting the Auditor, Controller and Sr. Accountant in their duties as needed

About you
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or other book-keeping certification
  • Strong knowledge of basics of accounting and administration
  • Experience in accounting is a plus (open for interns available immediately)
  • Good analytical skills; with strong computer skills
  • Organized with attention to detail and accurate data entry
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and see tasks through to conclusion in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative with willingness to learn and contribute
  • Microsoft Office - mainly excel
  • Experience with ERP/ financial planning systems would be a strong plus
  • Work well in a small team environment and excited to ensure all department goals are achieved
