As an Administrative Assistant in Agriculture, you will collect and manage financial and sustainability data from agricultural businesses for the Business Information Network (BIN). You will oversee a portfolio of companies in one or more agricultural sectors of your choice: dairy, poultry, pigs, goats, or sheep. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with these entrepreneurs. You will work closely with our BIN participants at one of our regional offices in Alkmaar, Dalfsen, The Hague, Drachten, Haaksbergen, Goes, Oisterwijk, Meijel, or Wageningen.

The Business Information Network (www.wur.nl/bedrijveninformatienet) comprises approximately 1,500 agricultural and horticultural businesses, 100 cutters and other fishing vessels, and 150 forestry companies. Around 30 administrative assistants at Wageningen Economic Research maintain this network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting financial and sustainability data from a fixed group of BIN companies. This data is sourced from business administration records or digital (electronic invoices), derived from the companys financial accounts, or gathered through surveys with the entrepreneur. You will record this data in a database and make it available to colleagues for research purposes.
  • Managing relationships with BIN participants. You will prepare an annual report for the entrepreneur detailing business results and key environmental indicators, and create a digital business comparison overview on MijnAgrimatie.nl. During visits to the entrepreneur, you will explain both reports and answer any questions. At the same time, you will initiate data collection for the new year. Each year, you will also recruit a few new participants to the Business Information Network to compensate for natural attrition. For a full-time position, this will require about one day per week on the road after your training period.

At Wageningen University & Research, our employment conditions are excellent. Some highlights from our CAO include:

  • Full-time or part-time work (minimum 24 hours per week for this role), flexible working hours, and hybrid working options.
  • Free use of public transportation for commuting up to 100 km one way.
  • Home office setup allowance.
  • Extensive opportunities for training and education.
  • Sabbatical leave, study leave, and partially paid parental leave.
  • A year-end bonus of 8.3%.
  • Excellent pension plan through ABP.
  • Access to sports facilities on the Wageningen campus at attractive rates.

Of course, with these excellent secondary employment conditions comes a competitive salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a market-conform salary ranging from a minimum of €2,932 to a maximum of €4,001 for a full workweek of 36 hours, in accordance with CAO Wageningen Research (scale 8). If you do not fully meet the job requirements yet, entry-level scale 7 may apply.
