The Customs and Excise Analyst reports to the Trade Compliance Manager Netherlands & Europe with a functional reporting line to the Senior Manager Excise Tax Europe.

Responsibilities:

• Files customs declarations in a manner consistent with local legislation, global ADM policies and internal procedures.
• Filing periodical consumption tax and excise declarations on behalf of ADM entities in UK and NL.
• Acts as first point of contact (and the go-to person) for customs and excise questions for operational colleagues of other ADM entities in NL and UK.
• Maintains contact with brokers and customs and (excise-) tax authorities.
• Performs periodical internal (“soft”) audits on customs and trade compliance for ADM entities in NL and UK.
• Organizes and leads quarterly broker review meetings with UK and NL customs brokers.
• Signals and reports risk of non-compliance to the Trade Compliance Manager Netherlands & Europe.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of EU customs and excise legislation.
• HBO degree in finance or logistics or/and has completed the professional training for Customs Consultant (EVO, FENEX, Customs Knowledge or similar)
• Proven experience in trade compliance and internal auditing.
• Extensive experience with the DMS system of Dutch customs and EU EMCS excise system.
• Familiar with origin determination and stakeholder management.
• Has professional English and Dutch language skills.
