Every day, our students come to the laboratories to discover and develop more in the world of Chemistry. With your experience, you ensure that this can be done smoothly and safely. You make the difference!

What you will do
Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for supporting the practical component of the Chemistry programme (at MBO and HBO level);
You take care of the practical preparation and sometimes assist teachers and students during the practicals;
You manage laboratories, materials and documentation;
You are responsible for the maintenance of equipment;
You are responsible for tasks in the field of first aid, safety and the environment.
What we are looking for

You have at least a completed degree in MLO-chemistry or TOA-chemistry, at level 4. You preferably have recent experience in laboratory work and experience with organic chemistry and associated equipment such as GC, IR, CEM-Mars, Rotavap, DSC, SEC and Rheometer. You work in a structured, accurate and independent way. You are a real team player, accessible and you have a customer-oriented attitude.
You master the English language. To be able to communicate with students and colleagues, you speak basic Dutch or you are willing to learn this. There is a possibility to work part-time, but due to the composition of the team, Friday is not possible as a part-time day.

What we offer

an appointment to the position of Teaching Assistant level 2 or 1;
depending on knowledge and experience and therefore the final job description, the gross monthly salary is a minimum of € 2,417.47 and a maximum of € 3,309.49 gross for Teaching Assistant, level 2 (collective labor agreement HBO scale 6) or a minimum of € 2,742.20 and a maximum of € 3,631.83 for Teaching Assistant, level 1 (collective labor agreement HBO scale 7) based on a full-time appointment (36 hours);
an appointment size of 0,8 -1,0 fte;
an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus;

About the department
The Academy of Applied Biosciences and Chemistry trains students in Chemistry, Biology and Medical Laboratory Research and Bioinformatics. In addition, we have a Masters degree in Molecular Lifesciences, an Associate Degree in development and research in the fields of Drug Discovery, Biobased Innovations and Data Science. Our education is innovative, of high quality and we shape it in close collaboration with the (international) professional field. Unique are the specialisation in Molecular Plant Biology, the Masters in Molecular Life Sciences and the HAN BioCentre. Education, research and practice come together within this academy.
