Job description
As the Student Asisstent Marketing for the University Council, you will manage the UC website and social media. You oversee the promotion of all events and updates from the UC. Designing skills and affinity with social media is a prerequisite in this position, as the managing of the Erasmus University Council website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram are the responsibility of the Marketing Officer. Being comfortable with making videos and designing promotional material (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is definitely an advantage.
As the Student Assistent Communication for the University Council, you are responsible for the organizational activities (Event planning). You will facilitate trainings and activities for the council members, and from the council towards the community. The Student Assistent Communication is also in charge of organizing the different training opportunities of the council, including their onboarding, and other team-building and organizational activities (Event planning). Additionally, you serve as a point of contact between various Erasmus institutes, such as Erasmus MC, ISS and EUC.
Job requirements
Main requirements for a successful candidate(s)
- Being a student at EUR (BA2, BA3, or Master student)
- Excellent communicative skills (writing, speaking) in English. Dutch would be a plus, but it is not a requirement.
- Flexible hours of working and time management skills (besides your regular load of studies, you must be available to the Council for 8-16 hours a week)
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Designing and affinity with social media and communication (Marketing officer)
- Proactive and presentation skills
- Organizational experience (for instance, participation in boards or committees)
- Knowledge of the governance structure of the EUR.
Employment conditions and benefits
We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU).
The start date of this position is 17-JUL-2024 and you will be based at [class.26087] in General Management Directorate (ABD). This position is for 0.2 fte - 0.4 fte. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 2.618 to a maximum of € 2.846 gross per month Scale Student Assistant on a fulltime basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is entered into for the duration of one year and can be converted into a permanent contract if performance is good and the organizational circumstances remain unchanged.

De afdeling BZ is de centrale afdeling van de Erasmus Universiteit die primair administratieve en bestuurlijke ondersteuning levert aan de verschillende bestuurlijke en beleidsmatige overleggen en medezeggenschap. BZ is onderdeel van de ABD en wordt hiërarchisch aangestuurd door het hoofd BZ. De afdeling bestaat uit 4 bestuurssecretarissen, 5 bestuurssecretaresses en 2 beleidsmedewerkers. Zij ondersteunen de formele bijeenkomsten en werkzaamheden van de Raad van Toezicht, het College van Bestuur, College voor Promoties, CvB-Decanenoverleg, Universiteitsraad (UR) en het Lokaal Overleg van de vakbonden (EUROPA). Daarnaast ondersteunt en organiseert BZ het voorbereidende Agendaoverleg, de EUR-brede overleggen van de Directeuren Onderzoek en Onderwijs met de rector en het EUR-brede overleg van de directeuren bedrijfsvoering en de dienstdirecteuren met de vicevoorzitter (verantwoordelijk voor de bedrijfsvoering). Daarnaast kent de afdeling een aantal staffuncties dat zich focust op zowel de bredere afdeling als de gehele EUR. De afdeling kent een informele en collegiale cultuur waarin hard wordt gewerkt en ook ruimte is voor ontspanning en collegialiteit.
Meer concreet houdt de afdeling BZ zich bezig met de volgende taken:
- Voorbereiding, begeleiding en afhandeling (nazorg) van de formele vergaderingen van bestuur en medezeggenschap, inclusief agendavoorbereiding, verslag en monitoring. Hiermee regisseert BZ het bestuurlijke besluitvormingsproces van de Universiteit.
- Het administratief (secretarieel) ondersteunen van zowel formele overleggen als individuele bestuurders.
- Het bestuurlijk ondersteunen door het uitvoeren van verschillende staffuncties rond, onder meer, inhoudelijk actuele thema’s, faciliteiten (huisvesting, campus), ICT, financiën, evenementen van de ABD en EUR-breed, het EUR-jaarverslag en activiteiten die volgen uit bestuurlijke gremia.
- Het gevraagd en ongevraagd adviseren van bestuur en medezeggenschap over bestuurlijke aangelegenheden.
