Trinseo Netherlands B.V. is looking for a TS&D Engineer for PMMA Resins
The TS&D Engineer acts as a technology & innovation bridge between the customers and Trinseo Engineered Materials for its PMMA resins, with a high focus on sustainability. This job has a 2-component role: “TS” (Technical Service) to build customer intimacy and “D” (Development) to develop and implement new products or qualify existing materials into new applications. The opening’s primary focus is product and application development for PMMA resins in the industrial market including building & construction, lighting and appliances. The job will require you to apply your knowledge of polymers and polymer fabrication technologies (injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming). As a member of Trinseo Engineered Materials TS&D organization, you will also lead specific development projects, requiring interaction with R&D Centers of Excellence, commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, and other functions within Trinseo, and you will have direct technical responsibility for a defined group of customers. Verantwoordelijkheden:

• Provide technical service to customers to assist in solving their materials challenges, processing issues, applications development, part/machine design, testing requirements and root cause investigations.
• Act as a technical expert for customer’s applications and processes used with our materials related to Building and Construction, Lighting and Appliances markets.
• Translate the technical needs from customers into product solutions and/or product developments.
• Cooperate closely with the Commercial, R&D, production and TS&D teams to understand immediate customer needs as well as trends and innovation needs for longer-term projects that support the Trinseo Growth Strategy in the Engineered Materials Business Unit.
• Develop and execute specific application projects. Lead and participate in gated project discussions for new product development and commercialization.
• Accountable for the development and implementation of new technologies, products, and/or applications in your allocated markets to address defined business needs.

Kwalificaties:

• MSc or PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences or related subject with solid experience in or strong affinity with plastics.
• Minimum 4 years of work experience in the Chemical Industry, preferably the Plastics Industry with demonstrated experience in polymer processing such as injection moulding, extrusion, thermoforming and compounding. Experience in Building and Construction, Lighting, Appliance, Consumer, Cosmetics and other market experience a plus.
• Excellent communication in both written and spoken English is a must; Dutch and other European languages are a plus.
• Proficient in working with Windows based office systems, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  Working knowledge of DOE and statistical analysis will be a plus.
• Proactive and willing to take initiative.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, used to working in a precise and structured way.
• Capable to work independently as well as in teams.
• Mobile and able to travel, within Europe, up to 30%.
