The Group Data Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the data management activities within Mediq. This role involves developing and implementing data management strategies, standards, policies, tooling and procedures for all data domains to ensure the effective and efficient use of high quality data across the organization. Overall, the lead is responsible for establishing and maintaining the data governance framework of the organization. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of strategic vision, technical proficiency, and a passion for leveraging data to achieve business excellence.

What are you going to do?

You will be in charge of further development and executing a forward-looking data strategy aligned with business objectives. You will be responsible for a cultural change in which data is viewed as a strategic business asset to Mediq for its strategic direction. You hold responsiblity for Mediq’s data governance policies, standards and usage and ensure proper adherence and deployment across the organizations ecosystem to drive data consistency and quality. You will provide tactical leadership and input to govern and monitor data governance and data quality performance measures to ensure operational excellence is on target.

Further responsibilities are:

• Strong technological acumen, with a pulse on emerging trends in data science and analytics. You use those to identify and adopt emerging technologies and tools to enhance data capabilities.
• Drive innovation by exploring new avenues for leveraging data in product development and business strategies.
• Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of data professionals both at Group level and dotted line in the Mediq business units.
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and continuous learning.
• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data architectures.
• Identify and analyze business needs helping to turn them in data requirements.
• Collaborate with executives, department heads, and cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and align strategies.
• Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to influence key business decisions.

What is your background?

• Proven experience in data management, analytics, and strategy.
• In-depth understanding of data architecture, governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Track record of successful leadership in driving data-driven transformations.
• Strong technological acumen, with a pulse on emerging trends in data science and analytics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven (senior) stakeholder management experience
