Azure Data Security Expert

Functie omschrijving As an Azure Data Security Expert, you will be responsible for safeguarding sensitive data stored, processed, and transmitted within the Azure cloud environment. Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining data security measures, protocols, and technologies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data assets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities, implement encryption strategies, and develop data security policies in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Security Architecture:

• Design and implement comprehensive data security architecture for Azure services, ensuring data protection at rest, in transit, and during processing.
• Collaborate with solution architects to embed security controls into data pipelines and applications.

2. Data Encryption:

• Implement encryption mechanisms, such as Azure Disk Encryption, Azure SQL Database Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and Azure Key Vault integration.
• Configure data encryption for storage, databases, and communication channels to prevent unauthorized access.

3. Azure Data Protection Services:

• Utilize Azure Information Protection to classify and label sensitive data, applying access controls and rights management.
• Implement Azure Confidential Computing for secure processing of sensitive data.

4. Data Access Controls:

• Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to restrict access to data resources based on user roles and responsibilities.
• Define and enforce fine-grained access controls on data storage and databases.

5. Data Masking and Obfuscation:

• Develop strategies for data masking and obfuscation to protect sensitive information during development and testing.
• Implement dynamic data masking to prevent unauthorized exposure of sensitive data.

6. Data Loss Prevention (DLP):

• Configure and monitor Azure DLP policies to prevent the accidental or malicious sharing of sensitive data.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure data protection compliance with industry regulations.

7. Data Security Auditing and Monitoring:

• Establish data security monitoring mechanisms using Azure Monitor, Security Center, and Azure Sentinel for threat detection and incident response.
• Perform data security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and areas of improvement.

8. Database Security:

• Implement database security measures, including authentication, authorization, and activity monitoring for Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and other database services.

9. Incident Response and Forensics:

• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and mitigate data security breaches.
• Conduct forensic analysis to identify the root causes of security incidents.

10. Documentation and Training:

• Document data security policies, procedures, and best practices for internal reference and compliance.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on data security concepts and practices.

Functie Eisen

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in relevant areas
• Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AZ-500/MS-500, SC-100, SC-300 etc.
• Profound expertise in Azure data services, encryption technologies, and data protection mechanisms.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) for automating data security tasks.
• Deep understanding of data security regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address data security risks.

Working Conditions:

• This role may require occasional on-call availability for responding to data security incidents.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Compliance, and Database teams to ensure comprehensive data security.
• Stay informed about emerging data security threats, trends, and best practices.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
