WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an Accounting Manager in the Close & Consolidations team who will manage a team of professionals and contribute to the success of the EMEA financial close, financial reporting, and driving key priorities. The ideal individual will have strong US GAAP accounting and financial reporting knowledge, be a successful and effective people leader and communicator, be hardworking, and high energy, and will adopt and drive elevation and transformation. This role is ideal for a strong people leader with a passion for development and training, a strong background in accounting principles, and an affinity for optimizing and leading change.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, youll be leading a team of professionals and will provide mentorship, support, and development of the team in partnership with Accounting Leads. You will support the complete, accurate and timely execution of monthly accounting and quarterly procedures and deliverables across the following key areas - consolidations, cash & bank, intercompany, foreign exchange, and VAT for certain NIKE entities. You will be a key member of process standardization, automation, and simplification initiatives.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be managing a team of 5 direct reports and will be reporting to the Director of Close and Consolidations. You will work closely with the leads in our team and across Controlling Value Streams, including the Global Controlling team. Additionally, your role will involve closely partnering with teams across the Finance function including Tax, Treasury, Finance Operations, Technology, and Business Planning to discuss and resolve accounting issues to ensure accurate recording and reporting. You will also collaborate with 3rd party Managed Service Provider implementing operational activities.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in public accounting and/or industry with people management, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is a plus.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting (including external audit requirements) and ability to assess on US GAAP matters (including knowledge of cash, intercompany, and foreign exchange)
• Experience developing and mentoring teammates, while driving strategic initiatives and managing competing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to optimally identify, communicate, and influence issues, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership, including meeting facilitation and presentations.
• Proven track record in developing collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers as well as the ability to take initiative, problem solve, and communicate complex topics.
• Experience with the following systems and tools: ERP (e.g. SAP a plus), Blackline, Microsoft Office and Excel, Group Reporting in SAP S4 Hana with Central Finance (CFIN) experience is a plus.
