Job Description


Reporting to the Team Leader and Engineer and working together with the Supervisors and Head Superintendent.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the works are carried out most efficiently and safely.
  • Lead by example with regard to safety.
  • Report all near misses, hazards, or observations.
  • Ensure task briefings & LMRA have been carried out prior to tasks undertaken.
  • Coordinating and overseeing the work on site.
  • Make sure the quality and quantity of work produced are at the required levels.
  • Follow up and record the assigned Inspection Activities as per the ITPs.
  • Leading and managing the resources and subcontractors on site.
  • Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Create daily reports of the work
  • Keep track of material stock and orders.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

More than 7 years experience as a supervisor in bridge construction

Required Skills

  • Good communication skills (to all levels including Supervisors).
  • Foundations: sheet piling and piling
  • Concrete works
  • Steel reinforcement
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proactively challenge and be challenged where appropriate.
  • Knowledge of using and clear understanding PRIE, work plans, ITPs & procedures.
  • Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst subcontractors and staff.
  • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others ideas and tries new things.
  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.
