We are on the lookout for a new colleague in the Basel Centre adept at interpreting and guiding the implementation of prudential regulations. If you are well-versed in the Basel/CRD framework on banking supervision, possess excellent communication skills, and enjoy clarifying prudential regulations to your team, you might be our new colleague!

Your job

As an Advisor Risk Management & Regulations, you are a trusted advisor to (senior) 1st and 2nd line colleagues, offering compliant yet pragmatic advice and challenging them when necessary.

• You utilize your knowledge of the Basel/CRD framework to write principles for implementation, standards, internal Q&A’s, and explanatory memos.
• You collaborate with think tanks and project teams, to help the regulatory implementation process in other departments.
• You review the implementation of regulation in specific cases and the prudential regulatory treatment of new products and complex transactions (e.g. securitizations).
• You support and coach colleagues inside and outside the team by facilitating the learning process of less experienced colleagues and organising training events.

It’s a diverse role. One moment, you’ll analyze regulatory developments and address (detailed) regulatory questions, and the next, advise senior management on the impact and implementation of regulations. It is all about translating complex material into concise and useful guidance.

Working environment

The Basel Centre is a team of experts dedicated to interpreting the Basel/CRD framework, supporting the management of regulatory risk in relevant discussions and decision processes. Youll join a dynamic, international, and informal work environment within the larger Central Risk Management Department. Collaboration is key, as youll work closely with colleagues from various teams within Policies, Risk, and First-line departments. This role offers the chance to expand your knowledge of risk management and the Basel/CRD framework while honing your communication and stakeholder skills. Your expertise will contribute to ABN AMROs understanding of prudential regulation and its impact, allowing you to make a meaningful impact.

Your profile

• You have an excellent understanding of the Basel/CRD framework and/or IRB modeling experience, demonstrated by your 5+ years of experience in a financial institution or consultancy company.
• You have strong communication skills in English or Dutch (or both), enabling you to provide tailored advice in written form and during discussions with senior management.
• You have the ability to explain details of prudential regulation to colleagues with varying backgrounds and experience levels.
• You are cooperative, actively engaging with other departments and organizing relevant events.

We are offering

• The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
• The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
• Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
• Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
• Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
• An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
• An excellent pension scheme.
