This role - MT member and lecturer-researcher- holds responsibilities in both tracks of our sport studies bachelors degree programme. Our English language track which is International Sports, Management & Business (ISMB) and Sport Management & Ondernemen (SM&O) track, which is taught in Dutch. This role is jointly responsible for the future master’s programme MSc Sport Business & Leadership (start sept ’24, last phase of accreditation). Within these programmes, students focus on sports, management, and business, in which sports is used to develop personal, managerial, leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
Heres how you will make a difference As a member of the Management Team (MT) and a lecturer/researcher you:

• manage the Management and Entrepreneurship building blocks of both undergraduate programmes (about 0,3-0,4 fte);
• lecture in the sport management and business programmes in subjects like sport marketing, strategic management, HRM, entrepreneurship, research skills, management skills, etcetera (,4-0,6 fte);
• are part of the management team (MT) of three programmes and therefore your responsibility is to be a strategic thinker in the MT with an innovative way of working and an ardent desire to professionalise the world of sport;
• have a focus on collaboration and well as utilising and supporting all stakeholders in the team;
• have a strong vision for internationalisation of education;
• collaborate and share responsibility with other MT members on the hr cycle of teaching staff, yearly development discussions and plans of the programmes;
• have a desire and the experience to carry out research regarding the development of the entrepreneurship and management part of the programmes;
• follow and implement relevant developments in the faculty of Sports and Nutrition and in the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

What you bring to the table

• a master in sport management/sport business/sport development/ management/communication/educational science or psychology related field;
• a background in management and/or entrepreneurship;
• international experience/network;
• cultural awareness, sensitivity and empathy;
• lecturing/teaching experience in sport management or related field;
• a teaching certificate, or willing to obtain one within a set period;
• designing and implementing learning experiences in higher education;
• excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills;
• ability to continue the digitization of the program;
• experience using Microsoft Office, especially Teams is desirable;
• (near) native fluency in English and preferably speaking/understanding Dutch. Non-native Dutch speakers are very welcome to apply (English level IELTS 7,5 and an English language test might be part of the application procedure);
• heart for sport and head for business.

• A gross monthly salary between € 5.122,09 and € 6.698,86 (Hay profile Teamleider OP, scale 12 cao hbo) with a full-time appointment and depends on education and experience.
• A year-end allowance of 8.3% and a holiday allowance of 8% of your gross annual salary.
• 428 holiday hours per year with a 40-hour working week.

The Bachelor and future Master Programmes
We offer a programme called Sportkunde - track SM&O, taught in Dutch and Sport Studies - track ISMB, an international curriculum taught in English with more than 50 nationalities in our student body. In total we have around 1150 students and 65 members of faculty and staff. We are proud to be one of top sport management programmes in the Netherlands. SM&O and ISMB hold great appeal for both students and the sporting community. In September ’24 we will start with the MSc Sport Business and leadership, taught in English (last step in the procedure at the NVAO). This master has been developed with faculty of Sports and Nutrition and faculty Business and Economics.
