Position overview

As a Logistics Lead, you will be overseeing and directing the logistical operations within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to provide leadership to the logistics team, located in the Netherlands and ensure the efficient execution of distribution activities. You will spearhead all logistics endeavors, including import/export, distribution, external warehousing, and sampling activities at our site.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Logistics team, located in the Netherlands, for the timely an accurate creation of shipping documents, arrangement of transport, to ensure prompt, accurate and cost-efficient supply.
• Handling of damages in transit.
• Optimize payload for best service-cost trade-off.
• Review monthly 3PL KPI’s and report internally and externally on performance evolution.
• Run periodic reviews with each 3PL on SOP adherence and performance, and give feedback to Indirect Procurement for vendor evaluation.
• Focus on product damages and losses reduction, follow-up on loss recovery files with 3PL and insurances.
• Issue and follow up of Logistic Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
• Investigate customer complaints related to Logistic performance, identify root causes and propose/implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with SHE, hazardous goods and customs legislation.

Required skills and experience

• 5+ years Supply Chain experience in logistics, distribution, warehousing and/or planning environment.
• Technological Acumen: Competency in utilizing logistics systems and PC Applications
• Experience in customs and trade compliance would be favorable.
• Proven track record with managing supply chain projects.
• Ability to understand complex organizational processes in detail without losing sight of the overall picture.
• Well-developed motivational and leadership skills.
• Analytical and conceptual skills, as well as very good negotiation skills.
• Experience in customs and trade compliance would be favorable.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both writing and reading.
• Master or Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics or related field.
