The Strategic Sourcing Project Manager role might be the perfect spot for you to broaden your experience or even make a switch in your career into a commercial function and still be very intimately engaged with high tech technologies and system engineering/product design.

With the vast majority of parts being sourced externally, that team is key to success. The Strategic Sourcing Project Manager uses his/her strategic and analytical capabilities along with his/her excellent stakeholder management skills to develop the sourcing strategy that prolongs AMSL’s amazing business performance.

Role and responsibilities

The Strategic Sourcing Project Manager is responsible for:

• Making make-buy proposals on new products and new technologies for decision in the executive committee of ASML.

• Develop the supply strategy for areas such as Optics, Mechatronics & Mechanics and Electrical Sourcing together with the responsible Category manager and all cross-sector stakeholders: Technology, Operations, Finance and Legal.
  This includes: landscaping the supply base, creating early supplier involvement in development projects balancing long-term supply capacity with expected market requirements, prevents strategic lock-ins, optimizes deal structures to maximize ASML’s Total Cost of Ownership, and scouts new suppliers.

• Building expertise to help building strategic deal structures in order to execute and capitalize on the different sourcing strategies that are developed: strategic deal making.

Education and experience

• Master/PhD in technology

• Passionate on human mechanisms needed for relationship management and deal making.

• 4+ years strategy consulting and/or management experience in corporate high-tech environment and/or extensive design/system-engineering experience.

• Passionate about advanced technology.

The Strategic Sourcing Project Manager works internationally which involves occasional travel.

This is a proven landing spot for talented architects and engineers as well as for external strategy consultants. In the past 10 years, several architects and consultants have successfully made the transition into ASML’s Strategic Sourcing team. Some of them stayed, others have grown into Category Management positions or into different positions in BL EUV, DUV or APPS.

*This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations.
