About the Position


As the Global People, Culture and Administration Manager at The Internet Society, you will be a key partner in shaping and executing HR strategies that support our business objectives and foster a positive and inclusive work environment across our global workforce.


Reporting to the Senior Vice President of People and Culture, you will lead HR initiatives, provide guidance to employees and managers, ensure compliance with HR policies and regulations, and support administration requirements on a global scale.

This role is remote, and candidates based in the United States or internationally, will be considered.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:

  • Partner with hiring managers to manage the full recruitment life cycle, from job requisition to offer acceptance.
  • Develop and implement global talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent in alignment with business needs.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires and facilitate their integration into the organization.

Employee Relations and Performance Management:

  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
  • Manage and support compensation actions as needed including reviews of market data, through any required process steps for any changes if required.

Learning and Development:

  • Identify training needs and develop learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and leadership development programs for employees at all levels.
  • Partner with managers to create individual development plans and support career growth opportunities.

HR Operations and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and company policies across all global locations.
  • Manage employee data and maintain HR systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.

Employee Engagement and Wellness:

  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.
  • Coordinate employee engagement surveys, analyze and present results, and drive action plans to address areas of improvement.
  • Promote work-life balance initiatives, wellness programs, and employee recognition activities.

Global Administration:

  • Partner with the Senior Director of People and Culture in managing global administration needs related to ISOC/Foundation physical locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in HR management in a global organization.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations in multiple countries from organizations over 150 people with solid pattern recognition and understanding of best-in-class people processes from large global organizations.
  • Excellent communications skills - written, verbal, and interpersonal - with an ability to tailor communication style to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM or PHR/SPHR certification.
  • Experience working within global, geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages to include English.
  • Has worked for a large multinational organization (for profit or nonprofit) during their HR career.

Compensation and benefits for this position will be paid in local currency and based on the country and geographic location’s local salary and benefits market data for the position. Exact pay will be based on factors including but not limited to relevant qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, business, and organizational needs.
