Legal Operations Manager

Join our innovative Legal Operations and Innovation team as a Legal Operations Manager and lead the implementation and adoption of advanced AI technologies to transform our contracting processes and enhance our legal departments operational effectiveness.

Lets paint the picture of the role

• As the Legal Operations Manager, you will:
• Lead the deployment of advanced AI technologies for contract review, analysis, and templating to streamline contracting processes.
• Oversee the implementation of legal front door solutions to streamline the intake, triage, and management of legal requests.
• Collaborate with the General Counsel, Legal Business Partners, and other senior stakeholders to design strategies for contract review, analysis, and legal front door solutions.
• Engage and manage stakeholders in the Legal Function, IT, Procurement, and the broader Business.
• Develop and execute strategies to drive the adoption of new technologies and processes within the legal department and organization.

Responsibilities

• The Legal Operations Manager will:
• Report to the Head of Legal Operations and Innovation.
• Drive global efficiency in contracting operations from both efficiency and technology perspectives.
• Manage multiple projects within the legal function, driving improvement initiatives, and promoting a culture of agility and continuous improvement.
• Promote the project within the Legal Function and with Business stakeholders.
• Supervise the delivery of input from the Legal function across different work streams in the program.
• Regularly review and analyze the performance of implemented solutions to identify areas for improvement, proposing and implementing enhancements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in legal technology to ensure AkzoNobel remains at the forefront of innovation.

What do you bring?

• Academic degree in business administration, legal studies, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing operations, with a proven track record in managing technology implementations in a multi-national corporate environment. Experience in legal or contracting operations is a bonus.
• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in contracting and legal solutions. Ability to analyze current business conditions, identify issues/risks, and develop strategies to solve problems and improve legal operations.
• Excellent strategic thinking skills with strong execution capabilities, balancing long-term vision with short-term objectives.
• Self-starter with strong personal and professional ethics, able to take initiative and engage colleagues in transformation journeys.
• Strong project and process management, change management, stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage change, drive agility, and motivate others within and beyond the legal team. Organizational change management skills.
• Experience in designing and deploying (legal) processes and setting up data analytics and metrics programs for data-driven decision making.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal skills in English).
