Job Description
UM SPORTS is looking for multiple enthusiastic and competent gym instructors with flexible availability from Monday through Sunday.

The ideal candidate for this role has experience in physical training, instructing, and working in a sports environment. Furthermore, the candidate has good soft skills, a proactive approach and is a team player.

Your role would entail:

• Instructing exercises
• Teaching group classes (e.g. circuit training)
• Structuring training programmes
• Fostering a welcoming training environment
• Maintain gym equipment

Requirements

• Work experience as a gym instructor or personal trainer
• Certification required (e.g. gym instructor, personal trainer, physiotherapist)
• Enthusiastic, pro-active, customer friendly
• Flexible availability: being available on weekdays and weekends on demand
• Language of instruction: English (Dutch is a pré)
• Being available for UM SPORTS at least 2 years
• 4-12 hours per week

What we offer
As a gym instructor at Student Services Centre you will be employed by the most international university of the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

• Good terms of employment and a (temporary) contract. The position is scaled in scale 7, job level 4, in accordance with UFO-profile sportdocent (CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten) with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from € 2.693 to € 3.636. gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus are applicable.

Working at Student Services Centre
The Student Services Centre (SSC) is the central contact point for all student services and helps students with a variety of issues related to studying and student life. For example, the SSC provides students with information on admission, registration, tuition fees and diploma recognition, but they can also go there for legal advice on study-related matters, career advice, a language course or help from a psychologist. In addition, the SSC offers all kinds of extracurricular activities such as a broad sports offer at the University Sports Centre, volunteering opportunities or lectures and workshops through Studium Generale. This way, the SSC offers students the opportunity to develop and enrich themselves in other areas besides their studies so that they can enter the job market with a broad-based knowledge, skills and competencies.

The direct contact with students and the variety of services, make the SSC a dynamic working environment. The SSC structurally cooperates extensively with faculties, other services centres within UM, students and external partners to support the student in the best possible way. UM SPORTS
UM SPORTS is a department of the Student Services Centre (SSC) of our Maastricht University and organises the sports programme for primarily Maastricht University’s students, staff and alumni. With its wide selection of sports (over 60 activities), 31 Student Sports Associations (SSA), fun events and student-friendly prices, UM SPORTS offers a healthy and fun sports experience with something for everyone. UM’s international character is also strongly present at UM SPORTS, in both its members and employees. Most activities are offered in English, so everyone can join in. UM SPORTS, with all its trainers and instructors, service desk staff and management team, has more than 120 employees. Many of our staff members are, or once were, students at Maastricht University. They all share a passion for sports and exercise.
