This is a key role supporting the European transportation function, including working with carriers on freight services, analyze and tracking freight costs, and work closely with other 3rd party transportation companies.
The major focus of this job will be to coordinate and lead implementation of best practice Transportation freight audit, freight scorecards and carrier management. This includes implementing Transportation systems and processes, customer collaboration initiatives, and transportation design modeling and implementation. The incumbent will establish relationships with internal Business Unit customers, vendors, and Dentsply Sirona external customers.Total Freight spend for EMEA is close to $40M.

Transportation Analyst - Venlo, Netherlands

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the development, evaluation, and sustainability of the service provider network to meet and exceed the requirements of Dentsply Sirona. The service provider network must support cost controls, performance metrics, capacity requirements, company growth, and business continuity.
• Develop annual initiative pipeline that meets or exceeds individual and team goals and provide cost certainty and improved service and quality to Dentsply Sirona divisional business units.
• Lead the implementation of cost, quality, and service improvement projects. Capture and report initiative results.
• Building an RFQ process that will deliver significant freight savings and improve customer service.
• Support carrier relationship management initiatives, which include coordinating, conducting, managing, and reporting routine and formal carrier meeting reviews that drive continuous carrier improvements, deliver business results, and identify areas of opportunity.
• Review, monitor, and manage transportation activity and spend for assigned shipping sites, and carriers.
• Manage the relationship between transportation operations and freight pay and audit.
• Understand the vendors’ rate structures across modes in order to negotiate the best rates possible while balancing capacity, service and quality.
• Carrier portfolio development including the analysis of new potential carrier service offerings.
• Ensure controls are in place and validated to support contractual, insurance and risk management compliance with current legal regulations.
• Lead the development and implementation of Transportation Management best practices across the organization.
• Present cost, quality, and service business cases to leadership within Dentsply Sirona EMEA divisional business units.
• Lead training programs and provides training to Dentsply divisions in the use of transportation and best practice processes.

Requirements and Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, or another Business-related field
• Minimum of 5-7 years of transportation operations and/or carrier management
• Knowledge of European transportation regulatory requirements, transportation contracts, contractual language, claims and insurance requirements.
• Bring substantial industry knowledge and demonstrated ability to influence at the carrier account management level.
• Working knowledge of European carrier operations, rate structures and contracts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels and departments both within and outside the company, fluent in English. Dutch and or German is a plus.
• Ability to lead multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational projects.
• Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Strong appreciation for analytics and critical thinking.
• Work effectively with others in the transportation team to resolve interdepartmental issues.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office, SAP S4 Hana TM and/or MS PowerBI knowledge is a plus.
• Shipper and Carrier experience highly preferred.
• Travel up to 15% mainly within Europe
