Job description

The ESG Product Organization team oversees product development and innovation. The product team manages Morningstar Sustainalytics’ product portfolio in alignment with corporate priorities. The team is seeking a professional to support the development, commercialization, and maintenance of our EU Taxonomy Solution which is part of our ESG regulatory research products.

As a Senior Associate ESG product, you will support the lead product manager in identifying strategic product priorities in line with commercial goals and managing the development of these priorities within the product development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to help manage and further develop the use cases and contribute to the commercial success of our research and data products. Furthermore, in the role you will become a content expert involved in answering client queries and joining client presentations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in product development in the financial services industry and understands EU Action plan regulatory requirements and needs. You will be supporting the development of new product features and supporting client and sales teams to achieve commercial goals.

Overall, this multifaceted role requires someone who excels in a dynamic environment, has strong analytical skills, is a creative problem solver and a good communicator. You will join a dynamic and strategically important team and contribute to the development of a vibrant community of product managers at Morningstar Sustainalytics.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the execution of new product features, collaborating with internal stakeholders (including methodology, research, IT, and product operations) and overseeing the development lifecycle to bring these enhancements to market.
• Support the ESG regulatory product team to achieve commercial success, collaborating with client-facing teams to ensure that client communications are clear, incoming questions are answered, product deficiencies are resolved as quickly as possible.
• Become a subject-matter expert, provide insights on the latest regulatory requirements within the EU action plan and how our regulatory products support client needs.
• Analyze EU taxonomy offered data to enhance client experience by providing statistics and trends to support their use cases.
• Support the development of client and market-centric product development roadmaps by conducting cost/benefit analysis.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in related discipline (business, economics, environment and/or social sciences) or Bachelor’s degree with the equivalent, relevant experience.
• At least 2+ years of relevant work experience in for example, product or project management or consultancy.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with curiosity and a drive to stay on top of market trends and developments. Ability to work data-driven and provide insights based on relevant indicators.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with ease and manage competing interests to deliver strategic projects efficiently and effectively, compromising where needed.
• A genuine team player who can achieve objectives through close collaboration and coordination with others (including technology, data & content operations and client services).
• Good communication and presentation skills (both in spoken and written formats), e.g., strategic plan development, PowerPoint or power BI skills, client interaction skills are an asset.
• Experience working with and affinity with data analytics and coding, for example python, SQL or similar languages is an asset.
• Experience working with ESG and corporate data, data teams and software development teams is an asset.
• Experience working with clients in the financial services industry or in a strategic consulting role is an asset.
• Experience and knowledge of the EU action plan regulation in general and the EU taxonomy regulation specifically is an asset.
