Job Description

It’s an exciting time to join IFF as a Director, Procurement Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Raw Materials. The right candidate will be responsible for managing Key suppliers relationship to ensure alignment with IFF business objectives, support the team on developing and maintaining a strategy to source a competitive and cost-effective regional portfolio of raw materials across all manufacturing plants in their region. This portfolio will include materials sourced regionally, with a common supply base and similar market forces.

The individual is accountable for the management of raw material costs and performance and guide the business on decisions related with Commodity based material, including establishing the sourcing strategy and setting strategic objectives individually and participate on Category teams meetings to align the strategy with global, regional/cross regional, and local business needs. The job function requires regional external interactions with suppliers and extensive market and supply network knowledge. This position contributes to key company, functional and regional business strategies and cost initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Guide the team to Develop regional category strategies for assigned categories and sub-categories to ensure raw material supply, manage costs, and capture savings.
• Lead Key suppliers relationship management in the region
• Regularly analyze and communicate market intelligence and information to facilitate informed business and customer pricing decisions
• Execute a disciplined application strategic sourcing methodology
• Guide the team to develop market intelligence and market analysis
• Support the team on developing new and existing supplier partnerships and collaboration to support growth strategy with innovation and technology
• Map risks and define a contingency plan to mitigate supply risks.

- Define a 4-2-1 together with the team members with the optimization and continuous improvement ideas in raw material

• Assure the suppliers are meeting quality and service KPIs through collaboration with Creation &Application, Operations, and Quality.
• Alignment with Responsible Sourcing Team on Supplier and ingredient risk assessment.
• Ensure suppliers understand IFF Sustainability Goals and have a plan to meet the targets
• Experience identifying, developing, and promoting new and existing supplier relationships
• Engaging cross-functionally (R&D, Commercial, Creation, Production, Quality, etc) and experience in working in matrix organizations
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) in English and global interaction
• Team leadership / project management / analytical skills

Required Experience

• Expert in the procurement area of responsibility with product depth and contacts in key supply markets (Commodities, processing chemicals and enzymes, others ingredients)
• Team Management experience
• Related supply chain experience in the space operating around raw materials, suppliers, supplier relationship management and supply chain best practices
• Strong knowledge of business practices and financial concepts/impact/analyses
• CPSM or SPSM or related certification in supply chain or procurement excellence is desired
• ERP (SAP, Oracle)
• Graduate degree; MBA, Supply Chain and material science related graduate degrees
