The Customer Service Officer (Customs) is primarily tasked with facilitating smooth interactions between customs authorities and individuals/businesses. Their main responsibility is to ensure compliance with customs regulations, provide assistance and guidance to customers regarding import/export/transshipment procedures, and address inquiries or issues related to customs matters.
- Ensure adherence to customs regulations, tariffs, and documentation requirements;
- Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding customs-related inquiries
- Prepare and review customs documentation for accuracy and completeness;
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and ensuring compliance with legal requirements;
- Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize customs clearance processes;
- Implement efficient workflows to expedite customs procedures while maintaining accuracy;
- Collaborate with logistics, operations, and sales teams to ensure a cohesive approach to customs clearance;
- Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders on customs-related matters;
- Collaborate with customs authorities to address and resolve clearance-related issues;
- Proactively communicate with clients to address queries and provide updates on customs status;
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of customs-related documentation.
Requirements Who are you?
- Proficiency in Dutch and English is required;
- Possesses certifications or training in customs regulations and compliance;
- Has an in-depth understanding of customs regulations and procedures, particularly within relevant geographic contexts;
- Brings experience in managing customs clearance processes for import and export shipments;
- Exhibits strong analytical capabilities to interpret and implement complex customs regulations effectively;
- Displays effective communication skills to interact with customers, customs authorities, and internal teams;
- Works collaboratively and demonstrates strong teamwork skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams.
Working conditions What does the company offer?
- A salary between 2.500 and 3.600 euros per month, based on experience;
- Pension plan with contributions entirely covered by the company;
