The Regional Business Development Manager ensures new differentiated Functional Ingredient Solutions (FIS) are qualified and commercialized at target customers. As our BD Manager, you are able to combine experience from multiple disciplines and specifically, sales, marketing, and technical & business aspects of products to enable growth in the target markets. You are the link between Global Technology (Product Management/R&D) and Regional Commercial Teams (Sales and Applications). While many customer interactions will be in conjunction with Sales and Technical Personnel, you will also travel to existing customers and prospects solo.
You deliver through people and teams, and organize to contribute to the realization of business targets. KPI’s will be based on annual revenue, margin, and project development aligned with FIS strategy.
You report to the Business Development Director FIS EMEA
Responsibilities - Lead the implementation of new technologies, products, solutions, and tools into the target customers through existing and new channels in support of the company’s overall strategy and FIS goals.
- Lead the implementation of new applications, including coordinating equipment partners
- Contribute to complex type i innovation project portfolio and implement the new products in coordination with R&D, Applications, Product Management and Sales.
- Lead prototype testing and feedback process, particularly in the project phases “Test & Validate” and “Launch” at target customers.
- Train sales on the technical aspects, features, applicability and functionality of the new differentiated solutions and tools.
- Scout and identify new sales opportunities for the business by working closely with Strategic Intelligence, Marketing, Product Management, Sales, and R&D. New Technology / Acquisition scouting is included.
- Lead onboarding of new technologies identified by scouting, by working closely with R&D, Legal, Regulatory, IP, PM and Applications.
- Develop new and existing high potential customers and lead new channels to market (e.g. Blenders, retailer)
- Implement plans to grow into aligned businesses organically and via acquisition.
- Lead to customer project prioritization with the Regional VP, Application and Market Segment Leads, and Product Management
- Represent the technology portfolio at key customers, industry meetings, fairs, and events.
- Provide key data about the Preservation and Functional Systems Markets to support the Strategic Intelligence and Projects team.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic plan (5-10 years), business plan (1-3 years) by supporting the Global Business Director, and ensuring that the annual sales budget is met or exceeded by working closely with Sales, R&D, Applications, Product Management, and Marketing.

About you
- MSc or BSc in a Food, Biology, Chemistry, Biotech or related field.
- 10+ years of industry experience, of which minimum 2 years in a similar role.
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial, collaborative attitude.
- Fluent in English.
- Capable and willing to travel around 40% of the time.
