Senior Manager RBA CoE Programs and Projects

Introduction to the job

As Senior Manager you will lead the team of Program Managers, Project Managers and PMO officers within the Risk and Business Assurance (RBA) Center of Excellence. The scope of the position can grow as the function within RBA’s Center of Excellence develops.

Role and responsibilities

As senior manager Programs and Projects you will be responsible to drive execution of integrated risk management programs, projects and supporting services. You will manage, oversee and guide the optimization of the costs, resources, technologies and processes for all the projects and programs within the portfolio.

You give guidance and direction towards multiple programs and project teams, coach and develop project / program managers on skills and results, providing feedback and (indirectly) lead, engage, motivate and inspire project team members, project leaders and project managers.

The team is part of the RBA (Risk and Business Assurance) Center of Excellence and executes the full RBA Portfolio.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Manage project lead and PMO teams, coaching and development of project team members, ensuring availability and assignment of resources;
• Strong collaboration with the portfolio management team, which includes Risk Management capability development and resource management;
• Design and evaluate program / project planning, based on timing, resources and dependencies.
• Lead execution of the portfolios and keeps track of project health and performance.
• Act as a sparring partner/advisor towards RBA Leadership Team , Project Managers, Projects Leaders and Program Managers.
• Drive decision making based on key program / project information, evaluates the risk nature of projects and manages risks.
• Deliver periodic reporting on project status and progress to portfolio management, leadership team and relevant governance boards.
• Monitor governance structure to evaluate, authorize, and monitor projects and programs.
• Alignment to ensure project and program benefits at a portfolio level.

Education and experience

In this position it is crucial that you combine excellent interpersonal and communication, coaching and leadership skills with expertise and experience in complex IT technical project management. You excel at building partnerships and strong customer relationships, working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and ensuring accountability. You are able to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Ideally, you will bring these competences and skills to the table:

• Master’s degree in Information management or IT management, Cyber Security or equivalent level achieved by work experience;
• 15+ years’ experience of leading large projects / programs in a technological complex organization;
• Solid Project and program management expertise, able to lead and coach project and program managers effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, approachable and flexible.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to build solid relationships and establish trust at different levels.
• An excellent command of the English language is a must, Dutch language is preferred.
