Together, we achieve more. About the role We are looking for a Tactical Buyer to manage procurement activities for TPI, Plastic, and Sheetmetal at our Almelo and/or Eindhoven sites. You will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating the best conditions for our business while ensuring compliance with legal, logistical, and financial requirements. Your role includes assessing supply chain risks, identifying gaps, and implementing innovative solutions to maintain a reliable supply chain. Additionally, you will oversee supplier relationship management, optimize ERP settings based on MRP demand, and conduct due diligence on vendors.   • Implement and manage the global commodity strategy, including risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Oversee contract management, initiating and renewing agreements to ensure optimal supplier terms.
  • Manage supplier performance, resolving any supplier-related issues within your assigned category.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply for production and spare parts, maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Source and procure parts exclusively from approved suppliers, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager and New Product teams to select high-quality, cost-effective suppliers for long lead-time and capital investment items.
  • Support the handover of projects from Alpha and Beta phases into production, ensuring smooth supplier transitions.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve supplier relationships, working with engineering and quality to identify cost and lead time reduction opportunities
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers for both production and non-production purchases.
  • Lead supplier transfers and business simplification projects to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives (such as 8D and A3PS) and support product change requests.
  • Promote and implement best-practice purchasing methods across the supply chain to optimize procurement performance.
About you:
  • Formal engineering training, NEVI qualification, or BSc in a relevant field (desirable)
  • Experience in low-mix, high-complexity manufacturing, with at least two years in a purchasing role
  • Strong negotiation skills and an established network in the commodity sector
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA or other ERP systems, plus strong IT and data analysis skills
  • Business-driven mindset with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work across cultures
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Email, etc.) and fluency in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of supplier development, contracting, and lean supply techniques
