Purpose of the role:
The legal counsel provides legal support and assistance to the general business operation of the company and its various entities in order to anticipate and guard against legal risks. He or she prepares and executes all contracts and other legal documentation and manages the administration of the Legal Department. He or she provides effective, business-oriented day-to-day legal advice to all our business partners on a broad range of business law matters.

Areas of responsibility:

• Acts as a business partner and proactively shares best practices, legal expertise and accurate legal advice with the commercial and medical affairs team on new as well as ongoing commercial strategies, thereby identifying and analysing legal risks and proposing appropriate actions to secure compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and policies.
• Drafts, reviews and monitors the status of a wide range of agreements. relevant to the business partners.
• Provides clear practical and thoughful legal advice that enables the business partners to achieve their objectives
• Provides training to commercial and medical affairs staff on legal and regulatory requirements which are relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
• Prepares legal documents and corporate correspondence.
• Ensures that the company is fulfilling its compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Develops appropriate legal templates, internal policies, SOP’s and processes. Works actively to align the legal objectives and business collaboratively.
• Participates in projects from a legal perspective.
• Instructs outside counsel where appropriate and supervise the provision of cost effective, business-oriented legal advice.
• Well-developed understanding of Pharming’s role within the pharmaceutical market and its position as a listed company;
• Supports the Senior Legal Counsel and senior management at a strategic level to deliver results.
