Who we are
The Toonen Reizen coaches have been well-known on the national and international road network for almost 100 years. The fleet now includes 25 luxury coaches in various sizes. They are multifunctional for company and crew transportation, day trips, international shuttles, school trips, vacation trips and national and international events. The fleet also includes buses for sports clubs and buses for partner Flixbus. Toonen Reizen works for a wide variety of target groups, from business to individuals, and from young people to the elderly. In recent years, the company has grown without losing its family-like work environment. We think it’s important to maintain family-like work environment so employees enjoy coming to work. Furthermore, the staff association regularly organizes trips and fun activities.

Being a bus driver at Toonen
We work with a team of 63 drivers who make sure customers arrive to their destinations pleasantly and safely. Thats quite a responsibility. You have a lot of variety in your daily work. For example, one day you might be on the road with the Union for the Elderly to Madurodam and the next day you might be starting the international line from Paris to Malmö. It could also be local school transport or a multi-day trip in Europe. Our planning takes personal preferences into account whenever possible.

Before depature, you check the vehicle and prepare for the route(s). You see it as your mission to bring the customers from A to B safely. You are also required to drive according to the legal rest- and driving hours.

During trips you take care of the bus, but major cleaning is done at the Malden location by professional cleaners. In addition, the mechanic and sprayer ensure that the buses quickly hit the road in a neat and technically good condition.

You will inform the passengers and provide service where necessary. Just as driving safely, good communication with the customer is important. During a trip things can change unexpectedly, you need to be able to easily adapt and dare to make decisions.

Our offer

• You will be considered for a one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent contract. We would like to hear your availability.
• You will be given a variety of clothing to wear during trips;
• An independent and responsible position in a leading organization within the industry;
• For salary, the collective bargaining agreement for Private Bus Transportation will be adhered to. This means that your basic CLA salary is between € 2,787.28 and € 3,356.53 per month (on a full-time basis and before taxes). Depending on your experience and age;
• Toonen Reizen deviates positively from the collective bargaining agreement for Private Bus Transportation in 2023. 100% of hours (including breaks) are paid instead of the 5/6 arrangement, so a 6/6 arrangement is applied;
• More than CLA, a commuting mileage allowance is provided as from 10 km;
• You are also eligible for the irregularity, night and weekend bonuses;
• We will meet with you yearly to understand how satisfied you are in your job and which skill you would like to develop.
• We arrange refresher training for the Code 95.

What do you bring?
Its preferred that you have a drivers license D and code 95. Have you had these in the past, but are both documents expired? Then we would like to think along with you.

You should be able to submit a Certificate of Conduct and have a good proficiency of the Dutch, English and/or German language. You are flexible and enjoy working different hours. Of course, your preference will be taken into account.
