Wat ga je doen?

The Services Oversight and Control team takes a central role within the whole NN Life organization, where it facilitates and monitors the annual FRR and auditor cycle for all the NN Life Business Units. Furthermore, interaction on controls topics with the first line in Finance, NN Group departments, second line (e.g. Risk Management) and third line (e.g. internal auditors and external auditors) will be part of your day-to-day activities, next to running new and impactful projects as the world of Services Oversight and Controls is continuously in development and expansion.

Your position is an essential Oversight function and not a risk manager or auditor function as you will be the key player between the business on the one hand and the risk managers and the auditors on the other hand.

You are part of the Services Oversight and Controls team that has as main focus point: the optimization and integration of NN Life’s Financial Reporting Risk Framework, encompassing improvements on the efficiency of the existing controls, managing internal and external risk management and audit parties and building of a future-proof set of controls upon our new accounting chain and where you will:

• Be the deputy of the Principal on “Special” projects in order to bring the internal control framework and auditors perspectives closer together and support in managing internal and external auditors
• Be the central point for the Financial Reporting Risk cycle: interact with many different parties, internally and externally in monitoring progress, collecting and consolidating information in the FRR process
• Be the innovator by identifying opportunities in order to be more in control and implementing improvement and changes
• Be holistic: Maintaining an overview of the entire framework, its interdependencies and different interests in everything you do
• Be the improver/project manager: improving quality of process control awareness and documentation across Finance as part of first line risk management initiative and manage new projects
• Be proactive: lead business tracking, results and mitigating actions and coordinate the documentation of current processes and controls
• Be sustainable: take a key process and controls role within the sustainability (ESG: environmental, social and governance) developments of NN Life

• Bachelor/Master degree in Business, Accounting & Control, Economics or Finance
• Over 5 years of experience in audit, the insurance industry with accounting and financial internal controls or operational risk management
• Knowledge of internal controls, risk management and audit and haven taken the lead in projects is required
• Excellent analytical skills that will allow you to swiftly understand underlying issues in combination with a pragmatic approach that will allow you to suggest and support your colleagues and service providers with process optimization and technological improvement solutions
• Self-motivated, sustainability-minded and initiative taker with an ability to follow projects through to implementation
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills both in English as in Dutch
