The Financial Business Group, within the Payments ecosystem, drives decision-making for evaluating investments in and launching new financial products at Uber. About the Role
As a Strategic Operations Associate in the Financial Business Group, you will help shape and expand our financial products portfolio, define and operationalize business program strategies, set internal & external targets and monitor product performance to drive growth. Your role will be specifically focused on Money Movement solutions that were building at Uber to cater to Earner and Spender needs across EMEA & APAC, including instant payments to earners for faster access to earnings, home currency pricing and routing (including FX solutions) and cross-border remittances.
What Youll Do
This is a high-impact analytical, strategic and business operations role focused on shaping and growing Ubers financial services business with strong initiatives mapped to Ubers global payments strategy.
- Develop and implement a Program Strategy for Money Movement solutions in EMEA and APAC.
- Conduct market and competitor research to help shape our Financial Services vision.
- Analyze product, program and partnership performance using data to inform business decisions.
- Scale new and existing processes to allow the business to grow profitability.
- Monitor financial variances and identify trends stemming from the marketplace or user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Operations, Community Operations, Legal, Tax, Marketing etc. to improve processes and explore opportunities.
- Problem solving - Ability to address issues involving people, processes, and data by identifying root causes and using logical, data-driven approaches.
- Strong analytical skills to set and track metrics effectively and derive insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
- 3+ years of work experience in a high performing role in a startup, strategy, operations, analytics, payments/fintech, or consulting.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience working in or an understanding of the key markets in APAC.
- Good communication skills that will allow you to clearly explain your work and participate in constructive debate.
- Interpersonal and influencing skills for effective partnerships across multiple levels and functions, internally and externally.
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, engineering, etc.) is a plus.
