Strategy & Analytics Internship

For our ambitious and fast-growing Business Development & Sustainability team in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Strategy & Analytics intern from August/September 2024 onwards for 5 - 6 months.

As part of this internship, youll join a team working on driving growth, profitability and sustainability of HelloFresh Benelux through innovation and optimization. Our projects include improving our overall menu and recipes, pricing, and subscription flexibility; identifying opportunities in new segments and defining respective value propositions and marketing strategy; assessing the effectiveness of our latest campaigns, and sustainability projects and reporting. To define, develop and deliver these innovations and optimizations, the team leverages both data-driven and qualitative research, details and tests innovations using multiple analysis approaches - e.g., A/B tests -, and manages projects and raises awareness regarding these innovations to accelerate change.

You will work closely with the Business Development Analysts, Marketing Analysts and Project Managers, as well as the Sustainability Manager. This is a unique opportunity to learn and gain experience in a growing business that is leading the way in the food industry.

Jonathan Peene, the Associate Director of Business Development & Sustainability says: “This role will give you the opportunity to analyze large sets of data and work on cross-functional projects. For larger projects, you will support the Business Analysts from the team with analyses and project management activities.”

This is how you’ll make an impact

• Analyze customer behavior (e.g., via 1 on 1 interviews, NPS surveys), provide & validate or test recommendations about Strategy, Product Improvements, Marketing Retention, and Operations. Project Example: “How is customer satisfaction developing and what can we do to improve it?”
• Create insights about the latest development of our competitors
• You will set up and coordinate various Marketing analytics research initiatives to find out what how to increase our marketing’s ability to attract and retain customers
• Track and report sustainability metrics (e.g. Food Waste %, CO2 emissions, weight of packaging per recipe etc.), and support with the preparation and delivery of internal sustainability trainings.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to generate insights for the Sustainability team or other stakeholders
• You will manage projects from beginning to end, but also support business analysts during bigger projects, such as new product introductions.

These are the ingredients you’ll bring to the team

• You are currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a relevant HBO/WO program, such as Management/Strategic Management, Business Analytics, Finance, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Global Business & Sustainability, Engineering, or a similar quantitative discipline
• Enthusiasm for Business and Data Analytics, and a strong motivation for HelloFresh are key!
• Enthusiasm about Sustainability topics including some knowledge of the sustainability themes relating to the food industry, and motivation to apply it in a business environment
• You speak English on a professional level, Dutch is considered a plus.
• Good Excel skills are a must. Nice to have SQL and Tableau skills, or at least interested in developing these.
• Enjoy working in teams to get the most out of your projects - you have proven to be a great collaborator during previous internships and/or extracurricular activities. Lastly, you leave a mark on projects you work on and take ownership to get things done.
• You don’t shy away from a challenge and are able to perform in a fast-paced and continuously changing work environment by being proactive and organized
