Industrial Automation Test engineer

Join our innovative team as a Test engineer and be involved in every aspect of the development of automatic cranes. This ranges from ideas within projects, testing the software in the office and working on simulators.

The Role

In this role you are one of the test specialist from the department. It is expected from you to take ownership on the awareness within the cranes team on the best practices within the testing process. Testing the functionality from the inhouse made software is a key part of your job. Next to this you will also be involved in the development from the simulators we create. You will make sure all the in house developed software is tested according specifications and these tests are properly documented according to the high standards from Siemens.

You will be working on complex projects dealing with the integration of a diversity of systems like: Automation and subsystem software, S7 PLC’s, HMI systems, PC networks, virtualization, cybersecurity topics.

A typical project last for 1 to 2 years and is realized with development / design in Holland & Germany followed by pre-commissioning in China and is finalized at the end customer location.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design & document testcases based on functional designs to test the engineered solutions
• Perform integral function tests and acceptance test together with the client
• Prepare test reports from the testing results
• Defining of the best suitable products, components, and systems to be used and their characteristics.
• Tracking, documenting, evaluating the development and building progress.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in (Technical) Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in/Knowledge of industrial automation: testing PLC and SCADA applications or similar
• Troubleshooting skills in root cause analysis
• Relevant experience with TIA Portal
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation (such as requirements, design and testing procedures)
• Business fluent in English

You have a plus if you also have:

• Experience with networking of industrial automation.
• SIMIT knowledge
• A ISTQB certificate

• Salary: €4000 - €5250 p.m. based on full time.
• Hours: 40 hour p.w.
• Location: The Hague
• Start date: flexible, but preferably soon
• Contract: 1 year via Yacht, after that extension or a perm contract with the company is the intent.
