As an Onboarding Engineer, you become part of the Service Delivery Team of Northwaves Security Operations Center (SOC), where you will play an essential role in connecting our new customers to our security operations center.

The role

You will enable the smooth onboarding of our new customers into the security operations center, taking on the responsibility for the technical implementation and ensure that implementations at existing customers remain up-to-date.


Project work and customer contact are an important part of the role, where you will come into contact with different types of companies.

Implementations are carried out on a project basis under the leadership of a project manager. You will carry out the related technical activities independently, in close cooperation with the customer.


As Onboarding Engineer, you connect log sources, analyze the resulting logging and create detection rules, in consultation with other teams within Northwaves Security Operations Center. Because you have a broad knowledge base, you can advise your customers well on the implementation and configuration of the various security products.


Northwave uses products from various suppliers, including the products from the Microsoft Defender suite: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office and Microsoft Sentinel. In addition, we open up various applications and products at customers based on their log sources.

The team

You will become part of the Service Delivery Team, which is part of Northwaves Blue Team.

This good-spirited team consists of two project managers and ten engineers with a pleasant dynamic, where everyone is supportive of each other. The team consists of various nationalities and the working language is English.

  • You have several years of work experience in IT, the IT security domain or a comparable field.
  • You are technically proficient: you understand the basics of networks, can read Python code and have knowledge of the Microsoft Defender suite and Linux.
  • You are proactive and take the technical lead during implementations
  • You are flexible: you seamlessly adapt your working method within the set framework to the needs of the customer
  • You are fluent in Dutch and speak good English
