Job Brief
Our Learning & Development department is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, quick-learning and communicative volunteer to take on responsibilities and provide hands-on support for our team.
MSF is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation. We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation. MSF was founded in 1971 in Paris by a group of journalists and doctors. Today, we are a worldwide movement of more than 67,000 people.
MSF coordinates operations through collaborations between global offices. The ‘MSF Operational Centre Amsterdam’ (OCA) is a partnership that is composed of the partners MSF-Canada, MSF-Germany, MSF-SARA, MSF-Sweden, MSF-Holland and MSF-United Kingdom. MSF-OCA operates medical humanitarian interventions in about 25 countries with more than 11,000 staff.
The office of MSF-Holland located in Amsterdam hosts more than 400 employees, offering direct support to MSF-OCA operations. Around 50 staff focus on recruitment, communication and fundraising in The Netherlands (MSF-Holland) and 350 staff are focused on supporting MSF-OCA operations.

Learning and Development Administrator (35%)

Place in the organisation
Learning and Development Administration
You will be part of the Learning & Development (L&D) Department, based in the Operational Centre Amsterdam (OCA), which is the staff unit for organizational learning and training support. We are looking for a volunteer that can support the L&D Officers team in their daily administrative tasks.
The L&D Officers are responsible of the administration and organisation of the learning offer for MSF-OCA. Through their work, MSF can organise centralised training courses for our country programmes and HQ employees contributing to improving individual performance as well as the one of the organisation.
Candidate profile
Has an interest in people development and enjoys administration processes.
Is interested in working in a large not-for-profit humanitarian organisation.
Has the ability to work with people from various backgrounds, cultural sensitivity is very important.
Excellent command of English language. Dutch not required.
Has good communication skills: both writing and speaking.
Has strong IT capacities with MS package + other tools used (smartsheet, salesforce - data management tools, community of practice platforms).
Can work autonomously but can also ask for support when needed.
Can quickly grasp new concepts, ways of working, or tools.
Understands and agrees with the MSF charter and behavioral commitments.
Can deal with flexibility in terms of workload. Additional tasks might be requested to support colleagues in the wider department.

A volunteer contract based on 15 hours a week for a minimum period of at least 5 months. Working hours per week should be spread over three workdays and remote working hours can be negotiated and adapted flexibly in accordance with the line manager.
If the candidate would like to use this volunteer position as a potential internship, this would need to be discussed prior to approval.
