Security Guard

Data Center Security Guards conduct unarmed patrols (interior and/or exterior), control facility access and egress, monitor closed-circuit televisions and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct, and perform other duties as specified by the client. The Data Center Construction Security Guard is trained to work on all posts at the assigned site location and is available to work all shifts. Data Center Construction Security Guards facilitate a pleasant experience for our client and their customers through interactions. Customer service is primary.

Responsibilities & Main Tasks:

• Maintain a visible presence to enhance security
• Conduct access controls and manage the access system
• Assist individuals in need and uphold order, peace, and security
• Monitor Building Management Systems/Energy Management Systems/Closed-Circuit Television
• Respond promptly to customer tickets/requests/emails/calls
• Manage incidents and follow escalation procedures
• Identify and report any deviations or problems
• Determine appropriate use of alarm systems
• Conduct security and technical rounds
• Report health and safety concerns
• Coordinate with emergency services if required
• Enforce rules and regulations, including removal of violators and reporting actions taken
• Complete shift handover procedures
• Perform minor housekeeping tasks
• Execute Level 1 remote hands tasks (training provided), including:
  • Plugging/unplugging power
• Connecting/disconnecting patch cables
• Installing patch cables between customers
• Handling media changes (e.g., hot-swapping hard disks, USBs, CDs, DVDs, tapes)
• Rebooting systems

Skills & Experience

• Proficient in customer interaction
• Strong communication skills
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively
• Effective under pressure
• Ability to handle confidential information securely
• Physically capable of performing assigned tasks

Education and certification requirements (some can be obtained post-employment):

• Security Officer diploma from SVPB/ECABO (level 2)
• VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct)
• Valid driving license
• BHV (Company Emergency Response) certificate
• VCA (Safety Checklist for Contractors) certificate Shift Schedule & Site Location

The Security Guard will adhere to the following shift rotation and must be accessible for all three shifts:

07:00-15:00 / 15:00-23:00 / 23:00-07:00

The Security Guard will be stationed at a data center located in Amsterdam.
