Our Lonza site in Geleen , Netherlands, is seeking a Data Scientist Manager/Scientific Data Scientist/ /Biostatistician. In this role, you will act as data scientists supporting the development teams performing data evaluation and DoE setup. You will also lead the implementation of the E-Workbook (EWB) platform, set-up and configuration. Become part of this exciting opportunity and apply now!
Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of the ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook) platform, the corresponding data templates, sample management strategy and their associated database models for new or existing workflows
  • Support Lab Automatization / Digitalization activities
  • Collaborate with laboratory and data scientists to build data management workflows, tools and constructive feedback loops that improve the data collection process
  • Provide training on system usage and optimizations to local business process SME’s
Key requirements:
  • Some experience using Python to post or retrieve data from REST APIs and writing SQL queries against relational databases
  • EWB experience (electronic workbook) IDBS is a big advantage/ pre
  • Familiarity with database design; preferably both relational and non-relational (NoSQL)
  • Comfortable with on premises local databases (such as Oracle, MongoDB, MS Azure ,MySQL, SQLite MS SQL Server)
  • Familiarity with agile software project management practices
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a range of stakeholders with different data needs
  • Curious, self-driven, analytical and excited to play with data
