Technician, PP-PE Pilot Plant & Instal Process

JOB PURPOSE:

Within the group of the STC Geleen Technology & Innovation Pilot Plant & Process Installations, we are looking for 24/7 Process Operators.

The 24/7 Process Operator is responsible for preparing, carrying out and developing experiments in the context of R&D research.

Main Responsibilities:

• Safe operation of polymerization installations (Polyethylene mini-plants and Polypropylene pilot plant) and carrying out experiments according to plan within the set preconditions.
• Processing the collected data, observations and interpretations into a written and/or oral report, drawing conclusions and making improvement proposals.
• Manage an assigned area of interest (e.g. equipment, working methods, etc.).
• Setting up experiments in consultation with the client.

• Ability to influence SABIC Europe and Global Partner(s)
• Ability to balance supportive/steering activities at Site and European level including go to for Advice by local manager(s)
• Ability to work and influence in multi-cultural, diverse Global Community whilst aligning with local and global policy and legal directives
• Ability to promote local and global corporate values

Challenges:

Single problems (prescribed starting recipes) that are often solved pragmatically and together with the use of complex equipment; there is usually a standard method of solving where safety awareness, good workmanship and technical insight are required. The task is often executed with a clearly defined goal. The technician must independently (and often solo) operate a complex pilot plant (starting and stopping) of the pilot plant, in addition to normal business operations, recognizing malfunctions, devising solutions, and safely executing the most efficient route.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• A completed training at MBO level, MTS PT, Vapro C or BTPI.
• Experience with measuring room work, reactors and key experts.
• We are looking for a process operator with the following profile: safety-conscious, strong communication skills, initiative-rich, independent, stress-resistant, well-developed technical insight, makes improvement proposals, critical attitude, team player, flexible.
• Within STC Geleen, we work in accordance with the 2-2-2 five-shift schedule with a built-in reserve period. Running day support is also part of the schedule; during the day support period, setups are operated on a day shift.
• Fluency in Dutch both written and oral is essential and English is a bonus

Location: STC-Geleen, The Netherlands

Travel: < 10% (regionally)
